The Silence of Sorrowful Hours has been published. You can buy it at lulu.com. Soon it will be available on Amazon. Updated purchase information will be posted.

The Silence of Sorrowful Hours tells the story of a disparate group in South Central Pennsylvania in the Civil War-era. Free Black men and runaway slaves. A Quaker farmer. A beautiful actress. A creole woman from Martinique. Together they fight the war in the only ways they can. The pacifist farmer volunteers as a nurse for the Union Army. The others form a group of "irregulars" to disrupt Confederate plans and progress. The farm's crops are grown in aid of the Union - and trees are chopped down to make coffins for soldiers killed on the field. But love, loss, anger, grief, and exhaustion take their toll on everyone, and the end of the war doesn't mean the end of suffering.
